BREAKING NEWS: As confirmed by Red Sox GM Ben Cherington and the Red Sox official twitter account, Bobby Valentine was let go from the Red Sox organization after a tumultuous season that included significant injuries, trades and feuds. Valentine's disagreements with Kevin Youkilis led to a trade to the White Sox and the mega-trade with the Dodgers in which the Red Sox traded Carl Crawford, Josh Beckett and Adrian Gonzalez. The expectation entering the season were quite high given the Red Sox had the 3rd highest payroll in the MLB entering the 2012 season. (1)
