CC had his second superior start in a row last night giving up only 2 runs in 8 innings following a complete game shutout his previous start.
However, John Maine was more impressive. Granted the lineup he faced was pretty bad, but he was simply dealing. Granted he didn't get the win because of a blown save, but fastball after fastball was being blown by hitters. He also had a devastating change yesterday. The bottom line is that the Mets have three reliable starters right now. That is not something the Marlins (2 of them), Phillies (0 - Brett Myers has the lowest ERA of a starter with 4.81) or the Yankees can say.
And Livan just seems to always win games!

And Pelfrey is coming off a great start too and is a lucky 4-0.
ReplyDeleteI hate the vulture win rule. I understand logically why it works. But how does Bobby Parnell get the win yesterday when he gave up 2 runs to blow the save?? That's not to knock Parnell, he's been GREAT all year for us.
