After Rafa Nadal lost is one of the most shocking upsets in tennis history, Roger Federer has his chance at becoming the greatest player in history.
Perhaps a French Open win would have been sweeter if he were to personally beat Nadal - but, this would still be sweet and look just as good in the history book.
Nadal clearly is less effective against tall players and it basically took a perfect storm from a very talented tall player to beat him on clay.
Federer nearly blew his chance this morning against Tommy Haas; however, he has fought back and should get to the quarters.
Federer may lose to Andy Murray in the finals, but if he gets there against anyone else, I can't see him losing.
Don't screw this up Roger!

Of course it won't look as good in the history book. People will say yeah he won a French Open but he still never beat Nadal at the French.
ReplyDeleteinteresting to note, but nadal's biggest weapon is the forehand with crazy topspin, giving it great kick. on taller guys, they can hit that normally rather than awkwardly because they don't mind the extra couple of inches of height
