With a pathetic offensive performance during the latter stages of last season, there is only one reason the Jets would bring back the offensive coordinator - Brian Schottenheimer.
Brett Favre has learned the offensive system of Schottenheimer and the Jets are keeping the coordinator to give Favre the option of coming back to New York.
I think that the Jets are in a serious bind. Favre has clearly lost some zip and his decision making is not better than it was. That combination leads to him trying to make throws he can no longer make. Is Brett Ratliff taking the Jets to the promised land?
I think not. But, is Brett Favre the answer? I again think not. Hence the bind.

sad thing is ....in the s/t - favre, even in his current state, is the jets best option.

if they do end up retaining favre, they MUST get a legit downfield burner.(ie: Boldin, TO, Burress, Crabtree prob too expensive to trade up to)
