Anyone care to share their fondest Met and Yankee Memories. Note: this is associated with the old stadiums so some random game you saw on a business trip in St. Louis or Arlington doesn't interest the rest of us.
yeah - one time at yankee stadium i tried getting down to field level from tier or something like that and a guard jammed his fist or finger into my stomach.
on another occasion i was on a tour of yankee stadium - the tour was good - however the guide had an amputated hand, probably an army vet, and was using the stub as a pointer. being the queasy one that i am, i was pretty grossed out.
My first game ever at Shea, April 1986 Mets vs Pirates - I was 6. I remember Ray Knight hit a homer, there was a rain delay, my dad pointed out Pirates PH Lee Mazzilli cuz "he used to be a Met", and that the Mets won.
2003 WS game 6... they actually played NY NY when they lost the world series.
2004 Game 6 and 7 ALCS Yankee fans can cry it was ketchup, probably wasnt, even if it was at least it wasnt steroids. Vintage Javier Vazquez...
2006 ALDS Game 2, the almost HOFer Mussina who almost won a WS ring and almost pitched a perfect game, with the score tied and the 95 win yankees leading in the series 1-0, he almost struck out Curtis Granderson...almost but not close enough... (he gave up a triple)... but he almost struck curtis granderson out... he is almost a HOFer Mussina
2007 ALDS Game 4... Chien Ming Wang who Yankee fans think is the best pitcher in baseball, has the worst postseason series of any starter probably in baseball history... "but its okay" says the Yankee fans, "we have Hughes and Kennedy next year and we will win in 2008"... yup...
Every yankee game i went to... yankee fans get drunk and do something really really stupid and make fools out of themselves.

i'll never forget a wonderful mets fan mooning and then sitting down on the face of the one unlucky phillies fan in our section. good times.
