Joba had a 0.80 ERA going into tonight's rubber game against the Rays. He has faced the minimum through 5, only allowing 1 hit (CS of Bartlett) and 0 walks.
As a trade deadline with no pitcher brought in looms for the Yankees, Joba's inning limit is almost definitely out the window.
The Mets were rained out today - the day Johan is supposed to pitch. This must be frustrating to the Mets because every start for Johan is precious and the more he gets in the more successful the Mets will be. However, they had this coming for often pushing Johan back when he could have started earlier. The Mets deserve to get screwed like this - enjoy it!
Brad Penny struggled today. Odd stat - he had given up 3 walks in his last 5 starts combined, tonight - 4 walks so far.
