The Curse of the Bambino was on Jonathan Papelbon tonight as he blew a 7-4 lead in the 9th inning against the A's. An assist goes to Nick Green on the error with 2 outs in the top of the ninth that cost Boston the game.
Green is batting .202 since June 1st and may be spending his last few days as the starting SS.
The Red Sox has suffered offensively lately. Over the team's first 11 games in July, they went 7-4 and scored more than 4 runs in a game 8 times! Since the all-star break, the team has gone 4-7 and has scored more than 4 runs only 3 times!
Kevin Youkilis only has a .308 OBP this month and is contributing significantly to the Red Sox woes.
