Brutal, Brutal Loss!

You see that bag - IT'S THIRD BASE. When a guy is on it with less than 2 outs, you need to knock him in!!!

Hit the freaken ball gentleman! Mets fans can not blame this one on the bullpen. The Met hitters had so many chances (even the big dog himself - Carlos Delgado) to get guys in and they blew the game royally. Are you kidding me, Daniel Murphy hits a triple and they can't score the winning run?

A couple of other things, this was the bad Oliver Perez, but he (and the Cubs pitchers) were squeezed a bit. Also, the Met bullpen was not good, so they can be blamed as well. Finally, Ryan Church has not been the same since he came back. That makes the bottom 4 of the Met lineup very weak. Church, Schneider, a pathetic second baseman and the pitcher is a sad bottom half of the lineup.

  1. this is deja vu all over again. randolph wud have done a better job guiding the mets. the mets shouldve beefed up the pitching a bit around trade deadline time.

fortunately i'm a yankee fan and was able to avoid this end-of-season anxiety. its one of the advantages of being (effectively) eliminated early.

  3. tonite was almsot as good as last nite was bad. I was there last nite and I cant even begin to descrbe how depressed everyone was. And teh venom coming from the fans.
Manuel said something very interesting in the postgame show about why he let ramon martinez hit "I didn't like my other options". Wow. If the mets make the playoffs, Luis castillo may not make the roster.
