In typical Yankee fashion, a player is traded for nothing and then pitches brilliantly with no pressure on for another team. LaTroy Hawkins has not given up a run in Houston since being traded there. It is impressive; however, the next classic Yankee move would be to sign him again for next year based on his Houston performance - DON'T. The guy can't pitch under pressure.
Note: The Yankees had a brawl today against the Angels. Clearly, this brawl was started for 2 completely opposing reasons. The Angels are just bored of winning so they need to find something to do. The Yankees can't win at baseball so they are trying other sports (boxing and wrestling to name a few) in order to win something!

Can't blame the Yankees for trading Hawkins. Seriously, the guy sucked. Perhaps is the low-pressure situations in Hosuton, or maybe he's on a hot streak, but Hawkins is not this good, and the Yanks got rid of him for that reason.
ReplyDeletethe yankees have the luxury of signing players who MAY perform well and if they dont perform then either unload them (while absorbing some of the salary) or just not using them. the yankees then go out and get someone else. its a benefit of having an unlimited budget.
