The Feds tends not to move if it doesn't feel there is some fire under the surface. It was reported in the New York Times today that the Feds sent investigators to collect DNA from Brian McNamee and take some DNA samples that may belong to Roger Clemens.
I, and everyone else, felt that the way Roger Clemens approached his congressional hearing was that he could bully his way through it. He has a major sense of entitlement that many athletes have. He feels he is above the law, recognized that he was testifying before Congress, and did not give a rat's patooti about lying before Congress.
CLEMENS LOOKING BAD (AND LIKELY LYING) BEFORE CONGRESS!
I think the purpose of sending people to jail for perjuring themselves before Congress is to ensure that people understand the significance of such testimony. Some may question why anyone deserves to go to jail for speaking about something; however, if anyone deserves to go to jail on the basis of not recognizing the significance of speaking before Congress, it is Roger Clemens who appeared to feel that he is above Congress.
For that reason (Clemens' attitude), I wouldn't be surprised if Congress was in favor of pressing charges if there is some evidence of perjury.
