Jon Heyman is reporting serious interest in the Mets top 4 prospects by the Chicago White Sox.
The White Sox have interest in dealing Bobby Jenks, Jermaine Dye and Javier Vasquez.
The Mets should not touch Vazquez with a 10 foot pole.
With regards to Dye, he is an excellent hitter, but doesn't really fill a prioritized Mets need. In other words, his services would be nice, but are not necessary and are not worth the top prospects required.
Jenks will never be a great closer because he historically gets bombed in September and I definitely don't consider him a big time closer.
Ultimately, the Mets should probably not trade for a 'closer' as they have the cash to sign one without giving up anyone from their seriously depleted and generally overrated minor league system!
