NFL Hind Sight (Week 12 Edition)

This was one lopsided week in the NFL. The average point differential between winning and losing teams was nearly 17 points!

A few notes:

-Brady Quinn has had one frustrating career thus far. He played pretty decently once he got comfortable; however, it ended quickly when he broke his finger. HIs season formally ended today, but he will certainly be healed by next season and I think he will be the Browns starter (I think Derek Anderson will be cut or traded for a 4th and 5th round pick - approximately).

-The pathetic performance the Broncos had against the lowly Raiders (who did beat the Jets, although not 31-10), means good news for the Jets who welcome Denver into East Rutherford this weekend. How bad does your defense have to be to give up 31 points to the Raiders!

An odd note from the game - JaMarcus Russell only through the ball 11 times (for 10 completions) and the Raiders scored 24 offensive points - quite impressive.

-Don't be alarmed by Matt Ryan's lack of touch down passes recently (0 touchdowns in his last 2 games) (unless he he screwing you in fantasy football), because the 'slump' is a result of a change in goal line philosophy by the Falcons. Michael Turner has scored 6 touchdowns in his last 2 games. I imagine that teams will start stuffing the line against Turner and Ryan's numbers will look superb once again!

-Indy won a very important game on Sunday night. As I watched Nate Kaeding's kick fly through the uprights with 1:30 left, I had little doubt that Peyton "the better" Manning was going to lead the Colts on a game winning drive.

Well, week 12 was a lame football week (unless you are a Jets fan) and nothing in theory could be better than Thanksgiving football - unfortunately, the games absolutely suck!

Happy Turkey Day!
