The Giants Are Not Shakable!

No matter how many injuries the Giants have, no matter how much grief Plaxico Burress gives them, the Giants have the uncanny ability to let it roll right over the team's shoulder and continuously find replacement players that play just as well as the original starters.

Domenik Hixon will start today (as he does whenever Burress is injured or on the "I got suspended because I am an idiot" list) and has been very successful when he has played. I would not be surprised if Hixon is a starting WR for the Giants going into camp next year (assuming Burress doesn't come back).

Hixon has a great combination of height and speed and always makes plays when given the opportunity.

Today, the Giants will try to pound the ball right through the teeth of the Redskin defense drawing 8 men into the box. Then the Giants will throw 15 yard out routes and lengthy go routes to the receivers in 1 on 1 coverage against the Skin secondary.

I would also look for Kevin Boss to have a great game today finding the seam previously occupied by that safety forced to become the 8th man in the box protecting the run.

Defensively, it is all about stopping Clinton Portis and the run. It is one of the most prolific running attacks in the league and forcing Jason Campbell to throw is the way to go. Campbell has thrown only 4 TDs in his last 6 games to go along with all 3 of his interceptions. The Giants defense is comparable to the Steeler defense and Pittsburgh forced Campbell into 2 INTs and no TDs.

Prediction: Giants 27 Redskins 16

  1. apparently the giants run game can be slowed. its encouraging to see that eli can punish a defense for dedicating the men needed to stop it though
