The only thing one can take from the Giant game is that an offense can have 2 of the most skilled wideouts in the world, but, if they have no QB to throw the ball to them, nothing can happen on offense.
Fine, you can also learn that the Giants can score on a depleted secondary.
Maybe a third thing, the Cowboys have a pathetic offensive line.
Hold up Giant fans, that doesn't mean I am saying the Giants are not as good as the looked, it just means that it is not a fair assessment. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't think the Giants are the best team in football right now - because I do.
Tony Romo makes that team go. Brooks Bollinger's time as QB is over and he will probably never have a chance again. I don't like what the Cowboys did to Brad Johnson. He did not deserve to get pulled for the lone fact that there was no one better behind him. He was put into a situation where the O' line literally could not stop the pass rush at all. He was not good himself, but he was always rushing. Bollinger was just as bad as Johnson.
Moot point because they will each sit on the bench the rest of the way - or else the Cowboys won't make the playoffs. Yes I am saying it. The Cowboys will be out of the playoffs if Romo sits 1 more game. His pinky will be fine, but if he gets injured again uhoh!
Think about it...because of the rest of their injuries, one would expect Dallas to lose 2 more games even if they have Romo. They also have a tough schedule the rest of the way. However, an additional Romo-less game will be a 3rd loss. 9-7 will not cut it in the NFC this year thanks to the rest of the teams in the Cowboys division. So, if Romo does sit. Even after this year, we will be tied for career playoff wins (yes, me and Tony Romo!)
As for the Giants, Eli - hold on to the freaken ball! The rest of you, keep it up. Can everyone please give props to Amani for being ridiculously good!

I don't hear much about the Dallas run defense or rather lack of. Put the weight on the QB, backups in a bad situation. Eli behind center in Dallas and you get the same result.
ReplyDeleteif the giants resounding victory doesn't add up to a whole lot, then the jets victory has to be equally hollow and opportunistic, as the bills were essentially playing without their greatest offensive weapon in marshawn lynch
