Awful Defense Leads Jets To Loss!

We are talking gaping wholes like the vintage teams of years past.

I don't know why Jenkins and the linebackers decided to disappear today; however, they could not stop the run at all. Additionally, there was no pressure on the QB. There were hardly any blitzes dialed up and I didn't see Revis, Rhodes or Elam blitz at all. Pathetic all around!

Offensively, the team struggled - but that is expected in this weather. That series when the Jets could not convert 3rd and 4th and 1 on 2 pass plays, I think 1 run should have been in order. However, I understand what the coaches were thinking as they were trying to catch the defense in a clear running situation. It almost worked on the 4th and 3 when Cotchery dropped a pass near the goal line.

It was an all-around frustrating loss that the Jets need to quickly bounce back from. The lone positive is that the Patriots and Bills both lost.

The Jets must win 3 of their next 4 games - a feat that is certainly possible, but complete focus every week is critical!

One last note: The call on the first TD scored by the Broncos in odd. I don't understand why Cotchery was not down by contact as he was touched while holding the ball. Then a guy punched the ball out from under him.

The referees did make the proper call on that play; however, on many other calls were odd and the referees seemed as out of this game as the Jets' defense!

  1. I think Yaros, you being the biased jets fan you are need to stop saying things like

Defensively, Revis will take Brandon Marshall (and shut him down), so there will not be much room for Cutler to throw the ball.

    AND

Cutler has been off and the Jets will take advantage!

You should say if this then this which at times you do and you have picked the jets moost of the times right this year impressively against Tenn, however im beggining to think it has nothing to do with you being smart and rather it being the fact you just dont know how to pick against the Jets.

Youve picked against them once this entire year, and from the way you write your predictions I see a lot of biasness towards the jets there.

This extends beyound the Jets and also to the Nets which you have never said anything negative every about and your hatred for the knicks which you apperently cannot say anything positive about, and to the Yankees as well.

Be less of a homer from this point forward...

  2. if the pass defense doesnt improve the jets are going no where. at this rate peyton manning would have 500+ yards throwing on this defense.

  3. off the derech - maybe you shoud start reading the blog and then you can talk. It appears as though you didn't even read the post your commenting on! I don't say completely positive things about the Jets or Nets! The Jets have been playing really well lately and the Broncos played like crap last week. To say picking the Jets was dumb this week is an odd time to say it was a biased pick!

With regard to Revis, he held down Marshal pretty solidly. The Jets got killed by other receivers today.

You can disagree with me all you want, but that was just a dumb comment!

  4. hmm...off the derech...why dont you pull up highlights from the denver raiders game last week...then reconsider your arguments.

  5. agent smith...i like your point...if the raiders could score at will on this team, how did the jets struggle so much?...and if it's the weather, why was the broncos offense so prolific?

and if the raiders could stop both the passing and rushing games, why couldn't the jets?

i guess they did a good job on marshall...but when two tight ends top 50 yards receiving, there are major coverage issues (particularly when neither is named gonzalez, gates or witten)

call this one what it was - a crappy outing by a jets team that had an ego issue after dominating tennessee last week. hopefully they learn from it or they won't make the playoffs!!
