So Brett Ratliff wins the Jets another game...props to him once again on another stellar drive in crunch time. People were suggesting he replace Kellen Clemens as the backup, but Clemens played well this week and it would take a serious meltdown during the last two weeks of practice for Clemens to cede that role to Ratliff. Ratliff does have solid arm strength and is a big guy (6'4") but probably can't play at NFL speed. Either way, the Jets will be in serious trouble if the other Brett doesn't play all 16 games.
The biggest problem the Jets have in Thomas Jones - he only had 1 rushing touchdown all of last year and never has a good yards per rush rate. The Jets need some explosiveness in the run game and may want to look for a faster and more agile guy (but a bit bigger than Leon Washington) on the waiver wire to see if some explosiveness can be added to the running game.

The only thing i looked for was signifigant injuries. the score means nothing. looks like justin miller got banged up but hes a liability out there anyway.
ReplyDeletethe running game has to improve or teams will just gear up for the pass. i never liked tj, if they could upgrade they should. i know dunn is available. the passing game looks good though as the favre to cotchery connection is heating up.
all true, great qb play all around!
