Suggestion to Jerry Manuel, use your surplus of late season off days to allow Mike Pelfrey to pitch against everyone but the Marlins. Pelfrey's two worst starts since learning how to pitch have been against the Marlins, he just can not seem to get them out. He is 8-0 against the league and 0-2 against the Marlins (and no cheap losses). Oliver Perez has pitched fantastic against the Marlins and the Mets should be able to work the off days to set up the pitching properly.
Note: The Marlins hurt the Mets last week winning 2 of 3. The Mets are in a bit of a groove having won 4 of 6 and have a very favorable next 8 games (5 vs. Pirates, 3 vs. Nationals) with extra favorable pitching match-ups. Met fans better hope Pedro solves his first inning problems that have plagued him this year (especially last start with 2 homers in the first).
