Just kidding, outstanding pitching by Mr. Maine and an impressive 4 innings in relief by Brian Stokes made for a cruise control victory, when combined with fabulous hitting - but, remember that it is the Nats so this is expected.
A few other baseball notes:
-the Lowell injury will not hurt to badly for the Sox considering Kevin Youkilis' 3rd base experience and Sean Casey's starter level batting average and OBP (although he has no power).
-What happened to Micah Owings? He started off the year as a power hitting dominant starting pitcher (dominant like the rest of the D-Backs [but then the bottom kinda fell out], he then lost control, was sent to AAA to work on his control and is now a Red as the player to be named later for Adam Dunn. Talk about a roller coaster ride from ESPN's Top Play's to the Reds AAA affiliate. Tough brake dude.
-Barry Zito has actually pitched decently in about half his games since starting off in appauling fashion. About every other start he has it. Clearly one of the worst contracts in baseball history. Bringing in Rick Peterson may be a good idea because Zito pitched his best under the ex-Met pitching coach's eye.
