Pudge banged knees with Murphy and has a bad bruise. He will likely get a couple of days before he is out there again. Mussina is pitching tomorrow anyway and his "personal" (at least unofficially) catcher is Molina.
Note: The Yankees had no catcher to replace Molina if he got hurt. Justin Christian would have played catcher. But it would have been difficult for the pitcher because he would have gotten lost inside the equipment and could not have put down signs. It did make me think of who would look even funnier back there. Can you imagine if the hugely tall Richie Sexson were back there - the shin guards might go half way up his calves. If Edwar was catching, he would actually call over from the weight of the equipment or go flying to the backstop trying to catch a fastball. The guy weighs no more than 165 pounds.
